I remember the film "Shaft" was released in cinemas in Australia when I was about 8 years old, and the theme was playing on the radio for probably a couple of years.  It's a theme from my childhood.  Have you heard the theme music of the 2016 film "Moonlight", and the music of "The Time Traveller's Wife"?  They're both really beautiful.
