Please @ENKELI I hope you're not taking my comments about Donald Trump's LGBTQI policies as a criticism of your voting preferences. His policies on theLGBTQI community are simply horrible...and that he shares with Hitler, he has good policies in other areas, but again, so did Hitler. Hitler had good environmental policies. And yes there are bigotries against LGBTQI people that have always been here, but are getting bolder and gaining momentum politically in Australia at least partly as a result of what's happening in America. That's what I'm saying. Vote the way your conscience guides you to vote, that's what elections are for.
This is a forum in which we can all name those things that are giving us anxiety, and the rise in militant homophobia and transphobia is giving me and my fellow LGBTQIA friends quite distressing anxiety.
The LGBTQIA community is a community that has one of the highest suicide rates in this country, we're also quite often targets of social violence here and around the world, and anxiety makes our situation worse. Also we were the first, along with disabled people to be interned and gassed in the concentration camps under Hitler, and we were the last to be liberated after the war. So the fact is @ENKELI that while you don't have much to fear in this political climate we've a lot to fear. That's what I'm saying, I'm not criticising anyone's voting priorities, that's useless.
