Hello Everyone,
It's nice to be here. I haven't made any plans yet. I might go to the gym, which seems to be good for me. What about any one else. 🙂

Hello @thequeeen it's lovely to have you here 😊. Going to the gym sounds like a good plan. I don't have any plans at this stage as I'm currently unwell with covid so I'll just be resting up and listening to music, watching TV's shows and chatting to people here 😊.

@rav3n are you still there? Thanks for the Finch idea - I’ve started it. How do you or others force yourself to start a task when it’s of no major consequence and you feel ‘blah’/scared of failing?
hey @Sam3 just saw this now! what works for me is working through 'why' i'm scared (took me some time to realise that failing and making mistakes are human experiences, and the pressure i have on myself/feel from others to 'do well' or 'be perfect' is what needed to be reframed).
the way i approach the task depends on the task itself - e.g. if its an assignment, i'll break the assignment into tiny steps so it's less intimidating. and then i put a timer for 30 mins and keep all distractions away - i tell myself that in that 30 mins, i've got to do some work and then after that time is up - i can choose to stop and do something nice for myself or i can keep going (usually i keep going because it takes me 30 mins to get 'in the zone'). even if i choose to stop, i can say i've done 30 mins worth of work opposed to nothing.
if its chores type of tasks, i like listening to music/podcasts or watching movies/shows while doing the task... it helps me get started and feel less stressed! or if i have someone around to keep me accountable, i use them as an 'accountability buddy' where i tell them i want to get X things done by Y time... then they check-in with me (which motivates me to get it done).
the most important step though... is to be kind to yourself. not being able to start/finish tasks can sometimes make us feel really guilty and ashamed, and talking down on ourselves can make it harder. reframing it something like "this task feels really hard to start, i'm struggling right now but it's okay, i can do it. i know i'm capable of it. let me start by *insert first small step*"
one of my fav quotes^ also hope finch is going well for you!!

@rav3n Thank you. It is a really difficult time for me. I’m doing my best to avoid homelessness. I also reached out to Mental Health and Well-being Local to try and save my life. I’m glad I did as today I saw them and was shocked the social worker was magnificent.
how are you?
