Re: BPD

Hey @Darryl ,

Welcome to the forums! I have to say I did struggle with BPD for over 15 years.

I struggled with most parts of my life. This was until I found the support I needed. I engaged in MBT treatment for 1.5 years.

It was extremely hard but totally worth it. Feel free to visit Raising Awareness of BPD - Flipping the Script

See you around! I’m happy to answer any questions you may have.

Re: BPD

Yes, I've struggled with BPD all my adult life. Not a pretty picture., I'm afraid. I am now mature age and only just beginning to see some daylight. It's one hell of a struggle but hopefully now it has been worth preserving with the therapies and multitude of tools.

Re: BPD

BPD took away my late teens and all of my early adulthood @OolBPD . However, I am so glad that I have learnt to embrace it and run with what it has to offer. I agree that it is hard work!

Daylight IS possible. I live it everyday now.

When I look back, I can't believe what a dark place I was in. Compared to where I am now, it's truly incredible.

I have learnt so much from my BPD experience.

It's so great to speak the same BPD 'language' 🙂

Re: BPD

That is truly inspiring. Thank you for sharing.

Personally, I believe my struggles and extreme sensitivity have given me a special view into the magic and beauty of life, without sounding too much like a tool. It's nice to experience beauty in a way that can hurt so much emotionally it can almost feel as though it is the end. Still, it would be nice to live life without the constant emotional disregulation, the widespread stigma and the relentless ugliness humans are capable of, the opposite extreme that comes with the turf.

(I'm sorry if this is triggering for anyone and will not speak this way again if it has.)

I'm going to take some offline time now, but hope to chat again @OolBPD .

See you around maybe tomorrow evening.

Re: BPD

Hi @Darryl

Welcome!

I have BPD and spent a number of years struggling, but thankfully have made quite a bit of progress in the last year. I know it can be tough being in the grip of this condition, and would be glad to answer any questions you might have ❤️

Re: BPD

Yes I was told a year ago that I have BPD. It answered a whole lot of my questions about my mental health my whole life and I’m nearly 50. I’ve had struggles in the past and at time’s recently as well. I’ve come to the point this morning that I’ve said to myself that enough is enough, I’m going to get myself onto this forum and chase up all the help and assistance that I may need. Just like others here, I’m sick and tired of these very negative thoughts I get now and then, and I want to turn my life around and improve things eg socialising and work. Could anyone recommend any good shrink/counsellor in the Brisbane to Brisbane North region that they have felt worked well for them. Thanks

Re: BPD

Hey there @Paul4 ,

Thanks for reaching out and posting what's been going on for you.

It's great to see that you are wanting to seek support for BPD.

I've lived with BPD for many years. It was terrible at first, but when I learnt to embrace and live with it, it actually became a friend.

I don't know of any specific services in the Bris region, however, maybe you can have a look at The Australian BPD Foundation, click on the newsletter and there are supports listed for each state in Australia. That's certainly a good start.

Also, there are online supports available too.

For myself, I completed the MBT program, but that was face to face in Melb and consisted of group and individual therapy.
