Re: Lost

Small steps forward. It can feel too overwhelming to do 'normal' things, so don't. Make it a goal to simply put one foot on the floor and then the next and get up. I would sit outside if the sun is out and get some sunshine for about fifteen minutes - it will make you feel better and tell your body things are okay. Gentle steps forward is the key. You can do it.

@Icaruslanded i would if it wasn't so cold, but again thats just an excuse

Re: Lost

@cantcope85we can always make excuses hey, but one tiny decisions (take action) smashes the big excuse to smitherines. I have found when feeling similar that using the principle of leverage helps enormously - what if you had to, like if there was a fire, or the phone rang and you had had to answer it? Dramatise it in your head and heart enough to make you want to take action and you will be able to push forward.

Re: Lost

Hi @cantcope85 , I've been seeing a psychologist for my bipolar that has progressed to depression. One thing we discussed that helped me was look to 1/ achieve something - little things to start - it might be just a 5 minute walk, wash some clothes, call a friend, go to the local bush park,  over time the little achievements grow:  2/ enjoy something - mine started with watching some old tv shows for laughs.  Things improved overtime with help from psychologist and gp meds. I hope things improve for you,

Re: Lost

is there someone else in your professional support you could see in the interim, like a chaplain or a counsellor? they cant provide the same support but can be helpful nonetheless

Re: Lost

i am lost most of the time too

staying in bed is by far my best responseDo you hav

I hate it but i also know that it is the best i can do at that moment

and the safest way to deal with what ever is going on

getting up is awfully difficult

i get that

but it is also super rewarding

even for the tinniest purpurse

Do you have pets?
