Re: Depression anxiety

@MJG017

Hi again M

yes your probably right thinking I wouldn’t get any more understanding if I had gone to that meet up, especially when I think about that person. So if there’s no reply I’ll let that go.

Which day is it ? I’ve found it easy to loose track of which day is which since my working life ended, and way long before that when shopping was opened up on a Sunday it was a bit that way too, but I was still working then of course.

I did eat dinner last night and I’ve now had soup, and will eat again tonight, but my appetite definitely isn’t like it used to be.  When I go out I almost always have coffee but there was a time when I’d have that with a sweet treat of some kind. I’ve been a comfort food eater with a sweet tooth for most of my life, nothing fills that gap anymore and now I couldn’t even think of it - what a difference ! And it partly accounts for my weight loss.

Attached is the bigger picture of that pic I posted before. I got to that by clicking on that bell icon, and then the Re:. Maybe what you see is different because you are a “Senior Contributor” and I’m obviously not. I don’t know.

It’s 16 degrees here now, and even Tasmania is warmer than us with 21 down there in Hobart. They are way south of us. Crazy !

I’m very sad to know about the death of actor Maggie Smith - she is one of my favourites and such a loss.

Nothing else to tell now M, so until next time, bye for now LulaIMG_5734.png

Re: Depression anxiety

@Lula

I was the same with me... after I stopped working you soon lose all sense of what day it is... it becomes a bit irrelevant after a while.

My appetite has also taken a hit the past few months.  Though in my case its more of a stomach discomfort issue.  I had a test for some bacteria called h-pylori which came back positive so i had a week of antibiotics, which was no fun at all, and now im booked in for a endoscopy in November!  On the plus side, Ive lost 11kg in the past 3 months.

From the screenshot, it looks like just a difference with me using windows and you using apple.  If you click on the blue re: depression anxiety line it should take you straight to the reply.

It started out as a warm day here, now its been cold and raining for the past couple of hours.  I just wish it would make its mind up!

I heard about Maggie Smith.  I didnt watch a lot of the stuff she was in but sge was definitely a great actor.

Well, this time it was me who didnt have any lunch, so i need to go and get some dinner now.  Take care and chat to you soon.

Hello M

It’s been nearly a week, but for me nothing much is different. How about you ?
I’ve been all over the place - a lot of today I’ve had the feeling that my whole body is sinking and dizzy, it’s horrible. I know that’s a symptom of anxiety.  I did go out for a while, had a coffee and something to eat, sat in the sun down by the river for a while, got some washing done and disposed of some garden rubbish I cleaned up yesterday, but doing all that hasn’t helped me feel better unfortunately.  Maybe it’s because I continue to spend a fair bit of time alone and it’s still very difficult for me.  It’s the start of a long weekend in NSW now, so maybe that’s why - I don’t have any plans, but maybe at one stage I’ll take a fold up chair and a book to be at a favourite place for a while, otherwise just more long days to fill in.

I went to a health food shop yesterday looking for Bach Flower Remedies and ‘coincidentally’ met someone who is a therapist and she is going to bring me some tomorrow that she is sure will help me.  Have you heard of ‘Bach Flower Remedies’ M ?  They work for some people, not for others, so worth a try - anything is worth a try at this stage.
It’s time I ate something again, the body is telling me I need it, although I don’t feel hungry.

Bye for now M

Re: Depression anxiety

Hi @Lula ,

Hope you are well. Thinking of you.

Great to see you here.

Re: Depression anxiety

@tyme

Hello Tyme

no, I’m not well. That’s what I said in the post you replied to.

Re: Depression anxiety

Sounds so hard @Lula ,

By connecting with others, such as on the forums, I hope you feel a little less alone.

I hear how lonely it can be when you spend a lot of time to yourself.

Re: Depression anxiety

Hi @Lula

I'm sorry it's been a tough week for you.  I know what it's like to fill long and lonely days, it's not easy and it can get tough after a while to even find the motivation to do anything.  I can't say I've heard of Bach Flower Remedies, but i'll keep my fingers crossed that it works for you.  Let me know how you go with it.  It definitely can't hurt to give it a try.

It's a long weekend here in SA as well.  Long weekends annoy me now that i'm not working because it means most of the shops are closed so I can't go and get something if I need it.  My partner on the other hand, is very happy because she gets a day off work.  Maybe we'll go for a drive or something, I don't know.  There's definitely nothing planned so it will probably be just another quiet weekend, albeit a slightly longer one.  So I shouldn't be too far away if you get bored and feel like posting a message here to me.  Or to anyone else here.

I hope you start feeling better soon.  Loneliness isn't easy by any means and I hope you can find someone nearby to chat and/or have a coffee with.  I assume that therapist you met is bringing the Bach Flower remedy to your house for you.  Maybe she can stay for a little bit and you can get a little break from the loneliness.

Re: Depression anxiety

@MJG017

HELLO M

when starting this page with the @ M I can see that other MJGs come up apart from you. Is that you by another MJG name ? 🤔 😅

How is your long weekend going so far M ?

I’ve had the weirdest day, feeling the need to sleep so strongly I haven’t been able to do anything else. I’ve had tired days before, but this one is something else. So distracting myself from sleep is one reason why I’m here now. Have you had days like this ?

I’ve meant to say before that I still have trouble logging in to Saneforums. Sometimes no problem, but more often than not yes. I do what I said before - clear the history, turn right off, turn back on and log in again - only sometimes it works.  I got my laptop going and have logged in to Saneforums on it without a problem, but it was only twice, I think. It’s too heavy to have in sitting on my lap so mostly I don’t use it.

Do you know if the Microsoft365 free version has any security attached by any chance M ? Maybe it doesn’t matter as I probably won’t use it for anything that involves email addresses or names.

Yes the therapist did come with the Bach Flower remedy, but wasn’t able to stay.  So now I’m trying Bach Flowers after telling you I’ve been trying tapping. To be honest I’ve got so overwhelmed by managing this anxiety that everything I'm trying to do is too much. I’m stretched just trying to do washing, keep up with tidying the mess I make, including the kitchen, appointments, doing nice “veg out” things a bit, and of course sleep.  I first heard about tapping quite a while back from somebody I knew at the time who it really did work for, so I know it’s not some crazy thing, but I had the same problem with it then that I do now - keeping up with everything. I really don’t understand myself. Am I being contrary I ask myself ?  But for various reasons I do know not everything works for every person. Taking Bach Flower remedies is a lot more simple - take 4 drops x 4 times a day.  I’ll let you know how it goes M.

Struggling with keeping my eyes open again, but I’ve about run out of things to say for now anyway.  Until next time M ……

Re: Depression anxiety

@Lula  You're right... there are a couple of other MJGs.  Neither if them are me.  It would be confusing if one of them started posting here though.

A quiet weekend here so far.  We went down and parked at the beach and at some chips.  Then we did a bit of shopping on the way home.  This morning I had to leave before having anything to eat, to go down and get some blood taken.  But my usual place couldn't do it as it was a specific 'corporate' form which meant the people who wanted me to take the test were paying for it so it had to be at a particular place.  Annoyingly, this place was actually slightly closer to home.  Then at the second place, it seemed quite when i walked in, but there was a little kid they were attempting to get blood from and he was having none of it.  So both nurses were in there with his parents trying to calm him down.  They failed and they had to take him off to the hospital.  I hardly screamed at all when it was my turn.

I have had some days the past month or so, where if i sent don quietly, like just to watch tv i get really tired and can hardly keep my eyes open.  I either need to take the nap or go outside and do something to make it go away.  I think the troubles sleep over many many months is just finally catching up with me.  Plus the last few weeks have ad lots of things I've needed to get up early for.  So maybe it's a similar thing for you.  I also got my latest checkup results and my blood sugar level has dropped to 5.5 so I think that isn't helping, especially in the morning and if I leave lunch too long.

I still suspect your login problems are more an issue with your iPad/iPhone.  At least you have the laptop to use as a backup now if you need to.  Do you have a small table or something you could use it on?

With the Microsoft 365, are you using it just for emails, or for the online tools, like Word?  All those online tools have some sort of security and protection provided with them.  But nothing protects you 100% so you still need to be careful.  But for the things most people do, you will be fine.  Just don't reply to strange emails or messages or phone calls and never give anyone payment information or believe you owe money if you're told that.

I'm the same with a lot of things... i need to set myself reminders to get myself in the habit of doing things regularly, especially things like taking medications.  If it's not a habit yet, then I just keep forgetting more and more.  I;m a bit of a procrastinator as well, mainly with chores around the house.  I just keep putting them off until I find the energy and even then I often just do something else.  I have to do them all eventually, but it is easy to get overwhelmed by it all.  Hopefully these Bach flower drops help you out.  I'll be curious to hear how you go with it.

Take care Lula and rest up.
